I first picked up a fly rod while on a trip to the southern Rockies with a couple of college buddies... and was soon landing small, wild trout! What a crazy fun weekend that was. When I got back to civilization, I bought my first fly fishing setup at a locally-owned hunting and fishing shop.

Over the years I've learned how to fly fishing mostly on my own... just me and my rod at peace on a stream.

Decades later, I'm still a fly fishing nut who enjoys the chasing after wild trout, especially within their native range. Occasionally I take time to write, whether a fly fishing story, to provide information about various fisheries and the fish they hold, or to just ramble. This site is the home of many of these writings.  Enjoy!
